SNEAK PEEK... Animation work

Above is a sneak peek of some work i'm creating with friend and animator Lee Blackburn. Its a re-work of an animation he's already made. Were keeping the great idea, just changing some of the visuals and pairing up to add some of my collage and some of his creative animating genius.

WHAT A LOOKER photo editing

some more photo editing for What a Looker beauty blog. Created a pop art vibe through the clever use of makeup and nail art. I used some basic editing techniques to really enhance the imagery and and give that 'Lichtenstienesque' style that was required. Clever image and nice to work on, also included the previously designed badge on the final image. See the actual What a Looker post here... http://whatalookerbeauty.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/cartoon-part-2.html.

NEW COLLAGE

My most recent piece. getting back into the habit of ephemeral collage. I love working like this. Mainly cut and stick with some finishing digital editing. Nice to be hands on again.

WHAT A LOOKER.. Logo/Badge design

Above, What a looker beauty badge/logo and underneath, badge in use. What a looker beauty blog required a simple, effective badge/logo design. Above is the outcome.. responding to the clients simple brief. Contains a hint to the logo in the background and all the information required. Visually ties in with rest of the blog. The main use of this is to add to original photos of the work what a looker beauty creates and blogs about to retain identity of picture and promote blog further. Simple design enables certain flexibility as regards to any colour change or even opacity changes to fit with/on varying photos/imagery. Have a look at What a looker beauty blog here .....

Out with the old.. IN WITH THE NEW!

Web.

Blog.

Had a design overhaul of both website and blog. Wanted something a bit more sleek/professional looking with more of an impact. Above is an example of the header changes.. tried to bring the two (web and blog) together a bit more through the design and consistency of fonts etc. Also toned down/changed the backgrounds to allow the actual artwork to be the focus rather than the design.

What a Looker... Blog photo re-touching

Above is an example of some photo retouching or editing i have done recently for  http://whatalookerbeauty.blogspot.co.uk/ She's super talented and has a fantastic blog so check it out!!! The nail art is my particular favourite! full of creativity!

Some real simple touching up but just to take off elements such as glare or flash from the camera and soften the whole picture. Other editing has involved sharpening imagery, general cropping etc.

Pallet shelf
This is an idea that i've had for a while.. making a shelf for my room from a recycled pallet.

Below are some images depicting the deconstruction and then reconstruction of the pallet.
Smaller than i initially designed due to limited space on wall as well as weight restraints. Still wanted to make it multi functional and appealing. I kept, reused and displayed as many of the manufacturers marks/brands that initially came on the pallet as i could. I did this because i love the cross between industrial and domestic life and think these manufacturers logos/numbers make really nice additions/features. I have created a base shelf on the bottom of the unit which will serve as a standard type flat shelf and an enclosed deep shelf up the top which i intend to use the for magazines etc. The pallet was free, the screws i used were laying around the house and the colours where tester pots on promotion at 3 for £1.00 a shelf for next to nothing that fits exactly the shape i wanted, provides good storage space and i think looks cool! Or exactly how my vision was anyway! Good fun to make. Colours..  Lemon pie (yellow) Pretty pink (pink) Luscious lime (green) later changed to Meadow (pastel blue/green).

Charity House Design.

This is my design for one side of a children's cardboard playhouse. the house assembled with the other 4 pieces is to be raffled off in the Tonbridge Homebase store to raise money for their partner charity 'Alzheimer's Research UK' The house without any designs retails at £10 so hopefully my peppa pig design wont make it depreciate in value!! lets make some money for a worthy cause. Im not much of a painter these days and especially not this style but chose the design to hopefully appeal to more children and thus making more money!!! Good fun and a good cause!

Pallet coffee tables

This was a bit of fun making a coffee table for my friend and animator Lee Blackburn's bedroom. I love recycling materials and objects and applying different uses to them. I cant take any credit for this coffee table design as this was all him but it was fun helping and getting hands on instead of stuck behind a computer screen editing. will post the final table when finished.
